Naltrexone is an additional drug used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it's an opiate blocker and is not an opiate. A person has the choice to take this drug as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents someone from feeling high from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 monthly.
