The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to advance the behavioral health of the United States. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid treatment facilities, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
