The military currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, in addition to any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to non-military health care providers within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can pick a primary care physician and get referrals to organizations that provide specialty care.
Through TRICARE, members of the military can receive drug and alcohol treatment services in Newark. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other various recovery services. They will need pre-authorization for treatment and there will most likely be some limitations.
