Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the costs for outpatient substance abuse rehab. This includes outpatient services, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as depression or anxiety and drugs dispensed by clinics. It also covers professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for people who want additional coverage apart from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. Individuals who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal and those used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
