Regular out-patient rehab is usually a less costly alternative to more comprehensive outpatient options or inpatient recovery, and is the least intense of formal substance abuse treatment available in Attica. Some individuals are in rehab for their first time and have chosen regular outpatient because of the cost and commitment to time wise and logistically because of school, work or other obligations. For some, regular outpatient is a step down from rehab in a more intensive outpatient center like a partial hospitalization or inpatient center.
Regular out-patient recovery services usually offer group and individual counseling services delivered once or twice a week. Facilities which offer a more diverse array of services may include counseling (CBT) to help with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help address co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders. How long someone remains involved in treatment can change from client to client, and a person's progress can be evaluated every now and then and an extension of treatment can be suggested based on these findings.
In many cases, a regular outpatient rehabilitation facility is going to be lacking in intensity for a client who is attempting to address a bad alcohol and drug problem and has never experienced treatment previously or has relapsed following prior outpatient rehabilitation.
