Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health care for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For individuals that do have Medicare and require drug or alcohol recovery services in Conover, Medicare will pay for various rehabilitation programs and treatment services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various types of treatment.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient addiction rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but individuals will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers a total of 190 days of inpatient care, this applies to the person's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the expenses for outpatient drug and alcohol rehab. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety and medications dispensed by clinics. It also pays for professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for individuals who want additional health insurance aside from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. Individuals who have Part C can have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications needed for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as medications required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
