Halfway House - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Programs - Continental, OH.

When someone has overcome drug or alcohol addiction, it isn't as simple as starting life again where you left off. Getting back to a positive and happy life takes time and a great deal of determination. A Halfway House, also called a Sober Living Facility, is a setting where recovering individuals can go where they can live in a clean and sober and supportive setting until they are able to live stably on their own. Living in a Halfway House may be a requirement of a person's parole for example, or the person may make the decision to live in a Halfway House of their own accord after drug or alcohol treatment. Either way, occupants of a Halfway House are sober and working towards doing what is necessary to get their lives back on track. This could mean, for example, getting one's GED, finding employment, etc.

Halfway Houses in Continental are managed by people who in many cases were once occupants of the house. How long a person is allowed to live at the Halfway House can vary, but it's commonly anywhere from a month to a couple of years. Occupants are required to comply with drug and alcohol testing prior to being accepted into the house, and this testing will take place regularly to make sure there isn't any substance use in the house or addiction issues that would be more adequately handled in an alcohol or drug rehabilitation facility.
