Halfway House - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Facilities - Ontario, OH.

When a person has conquered substance abuse problem, it isn't as easy as starting life again where you left off. Restoring a positive and happy life takes time and a great deal of effort. A Halfway House, a.k.a. a Sober Living Facility, is an environment where recovering individuals can live in a clean and sober and healthy setting until they can live stably on their own. Living in a Halfway House may be a condition of a person's probation for example, or the person could make the decision to live in a Halfway House of their own will after drug or alcohol treatment. In either case, residents of a Halfway House are clean and sober and striving to do what is necessary to get their lives back on track. This could mean, for example, finishing school, getting employment, etc.

Halfway Houses in Ontario are run by people who in most cases were once residents of the house. The length of time a person is permitted to stay at the Halfway House will differ, but it's typically anywhere from a month to a couple of years. Tenants must undergo drug and alcohol testing before entering the house, and this testing will happen intermittently to be certain there isn't any substance use in the house or addiction problems that would be more adequately addressed in an alcohol or drug rehab program.
