Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for medical healthcare services for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For individuals that do have Medicare and require addiction rehab in Toledo, this program may cover certain treatment programs and treatment services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various types of treatment.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient substance treatment, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for a total of 190 days of inpatient care, as in during the individual's lifetime.

Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the fees associated with outpatient substance abuse rehab. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as depression or anxiety and medications administered by clinics. Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for clients who want additional health insurance apart from Medicare Parts A, B, and D. Individuals who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications needed for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as those required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
