The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Drug prescribed are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted clients.
