SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Facilities - Medicine Park, OK.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehab facilities, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medications given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in Medicine Park are programs who are officially permitted to give out the drugs used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also receive auxiliary services aside from medication such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehabilitation facility can receive initial certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehab center is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years contingent upon the kind of certification it has been given.
