Drug and alcohol treatment services are available in a broad spectrum of formats, so there is truly something for everyone in Echo. Treatment services can be offered in both an inpatient and outpatient basis, where outpatient services range from 1 or 2 days of treatment per week to intensive outpatient treatment services which is delivered daily. Outpatient treatment services range from individual counseling and group counseling, to more advanced psychotherapies to modify behavior and motivate clients to stay sober.
Residential and inpatient treatment is there for people who struggle with more substantial histories of drug and alcohol abuse, ranging from 30 - 90 day programs. Some treatment programs have what is called a Therapeutic Community model, where clients may stay up to a year in certain situations. The longer the client stays in in treatment and takes advantage of rehabilitation services and a clean and sober atmosphere, the higher their chances of remaining clean and being able stay that way without needing such a comprehensive system of support. Services within an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment program are commonly more diverse and can encompass treatment for addiction but also other co-occurring mental health disorders. Aftercare and relapse prevention services are key even after long-term rehab, and many facilities recommend ongoing engagement in the program for a few months until the person has shifted into a clean and sober way of life.
