Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. For people that do have Medicare and need drug or alcohol treatment in Enterprise, this program will cover various rehabilitation programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different forms of care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient addiction treatment, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers a total of 190 days of inpatient care, this applies to the individual's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the costs for outpatient substance abuse rehab. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as depression or anxiety and drugs administered by clinics. It also covers professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for individuals who want supplemental coverage apart from Medicare Parts A, B, and D. Individuals who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications needed for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and those used for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
