When a person in Colver needs drug abuse treatment and doesn't have private health insurance or the funds to pay for treatment in full, the Access to Recovery Voucher is an alternative to consider. ATR is a federally-funded plan which provides the means for individuals to access addiction treatment facilities and support including inpatient, intensive outpatient, regular outpatient, counseling, continuing care, life coaching and recovery support, vocational training, skills building, and transportation assistance. The ATR grant program allows those individuals with vouchers to acquire treatment and recovery support services for drug abuse disorders at the provider of their choice. To be eligible for ATR individuals must meet certain criteria, including: 1) be at least 18 years of age, 2) have a history of substance abuse and addiction, 3) have a yearly income that is below 200% of the Federal poverty level, and 4) reside in the counties or jurisdictions that provide ATR.
Individuals interested in the Access to Recovery Voucher can consult with ATR Service Coordinators in their area. If someone's initial choice of program or facility isn't working out, they can consult with their coordinator to locate one that best fits their needs and that accepts the ATR.
