The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to advance the behavioral health of the United States. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid rehab programs, which are centers who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent people.
