Naltrexone is another drug taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned it's an opiate blocker and isn't an opioid. A person has the choice to take this drug as a monthly injection, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents an individual from experience high feelings from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse.
