Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. For people that do have Medicare and need substance abuse rehabilitation in Aiken, this program can pay for various rehab programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various types of medical care.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient substance rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers a total of 190 days of inpatient care, as in during the person's lifetime.

Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the expenses associated with outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation. People who have Part C can have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications associated with treating withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as those used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
