The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the nation. One of its obligations is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications prescribed are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent people.
