The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are programs which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted people.
