The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to promote the mental health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medicine given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent people.
