The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to promote the behavioral health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction.
