Opioid rehab programs authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehabilitation center is certified, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years contingent upon the type of accreditation that was granted.
