The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the mental health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Drug given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment centers in Ludlow are programs which are officially permitted to distribute the drugs used in MAT as long as they remain certified and always maintain the necessary requirements.
