The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for efforts to promote the mental health of the U.S.. One of its obligations is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are programs which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug administered are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients.
