The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to advance the mental health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid treatment facilities, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug prescribed are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals.
