Outpatient Methadone Buprenorphine or Vivitrol - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Facilities - Fayetteville, TN.

One of the outpatient rehab alternatives for clients in Fayetteville who are battling with opioid dependence and addiction is opioid maintenance therapy. Some facilities and doctors are authorized to administer certain meds to opioid addicted clients, many of which are opioid-based also and are addiction. In low enough amounts however, the individual doesn't feel high but also doesn't experience intense cravings and is not experiencing opioid withdrawal. Methadone is the first med used for this reason, but there are a few more options currently to choose from.

Methadone is an opioid and can be taken at an out-patient clinic certified to dispense the drug, that is taken daily as a pill or liquid. The cost of the drug is about $150 a month. Buprenorphine is also an opiate based med, and is a pill often taken every other day. But different from Methadone which is only be dispensed in well-regulated clinics, Buprenorphine can be prescribed and dispensed in doctor's offices. The monthly cost of buprenorphine is about $300 per month for the generic of the medication. There is also a version of buprenorphine containing the drug naloxone, which is a med that blocks the effects of opiates. An individual consuming this version of the drug, also known as Suboxone, would find it harder to get high from opioids if they relapsed while taking the drug. It too is taken every day, and costs about $450 monthly. Naltrexone is an additional medication taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs aforementioned it is an opiate blocker and is not an opioid. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly shot, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents an individual from feeling high from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 per month.
