DWI Clients - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs - ARP, TX.

DWI clients in treatment need to complete specific requirements to fulfill the conditions of their sentencing. Treatment programs which help fulfill these court requirements and conditions, which are usually far more lenient than normal sentencing which would include heavy fines and jail time, are available in ARP to deliver alcohol education, group counseling, and further evaluation for clients with serious alcohol or drug issues.

Education is a fundamental tool used at rehabs treating DWI offenders. There are a few different levels of alcohol education classes which can differ by state. Level I education classes normally consist of 12 hours of group education related to the effects and dangers of alcohol and drugs. This is the what someone with a single offense or someone under 21 will often be required to do. Level II classes would include both substance abuse education and therapy in a program which is approved by the courts. How long an individual will be required to participate in therapy depends upon certain factors, which can include the number of DWI's the person has had, and the seriousness of the offense. In most cases, clients will be required to take the Level II classes and therapy unless their blood-alcohol content was very low when they were arrested and there weren't any other serious infractions when the person was arrested.
