Naltrexone is an additional medication used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it's an opiate blocker and is not an opioid. A person has the choice to take this drug as a monthly shot, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents a person from experience high feelings from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 monthly.
