The military currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 years of age or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, in addition to any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to civilian health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can pick a primary care physician and obtain referrals to health care services that provide specialty care.
Through TRICARE, military members can acquire drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Center Point. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other various rehab services. They will require pre-authorization for services and there are likely to be some limitations. Military insurance pays for both inpatient and outpatient, but inpatient services for detoxification are restricted to 7 days.
