Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of out-patient drug and alcohol rehab program which is less than intensive out-patient and more intensive than normal outpatient treatment. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help individuals who may need intensive treatment for a co-occurring mental health disorder, but do not require 24 hour intervention and treatment. For a person who has finished inpatient rehabilitation, a partial hospitalization day treatment program in Garland could help them transition more easily into a sober lifestyle as a "step-down" option. Following partial hospitalization day treatment, the person could then phase over to regular outpatient care.
When a client is in a partial hospitalization day treatment program, they typically take part in services in the range of 3-5 days per week. It is similar to an inpatient treatment program in many significant ways, including the fact that clients will have access tonurses, physicians, and mental health professionals who can address the psychological, emotional, and physical issues they are trying to conquer. For at least four to six hrs on the days that people participate in partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will receive individual addiction therapy, psychotherapy services, participate in group counseling, get any needed medical care and address any of the mental health issues that trigger their alcohol and drug addiction.
