It too is taken on a daily basis, and costs about $450 a month. Naltrexone is another medication taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it's an opioid blocker and isn't an opiate. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly shot, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents a person from feeling high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 per month.
