The military currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retired military who are 60 years of age or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, in addition to any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to non-military health care professionals within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can select a primary care physician and obtain referrals to health care services that provide specialty care.
Through TRICARE, military members can acquire substance abuse treatment services in La Grange. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other various substance abuse recovery services. They will need pre-authorization for treatment and there are likely to be some limitations. Military insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient, but inpatient services for detoxification are restricted to 7 days.
