Military Insurance - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Programs - Palestine, TX.

The armed forces currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retired military who are 60 or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to non-military health care providers within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can pick a primary doctor and get referrals to health care services that offer specialty care.

By way of TRICARE, military members can obtain drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Palestine. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other substance abuse recovery services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there are likely to be some restrictions. Military insurance pays for both outpatient and inpatient, but stays for detox are limited to no more than 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detoxification will only be authorized if it is a Tricare approved facility, and there are time restrictions as to how long military members are permitted to remain in treatment. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is usually allowed. Additionally, there are 15 family therapy sessions and 60 group therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which occur on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has finished other primary rehabilitation services such as inpatient or outpatient treatment.
