There are programs offered in or near Saltillo which service both methadone and buprenorphine clients only, medications that are used in what is called opioid maintenance therapy. At centers which treat methadone and buprenorphine clients only, treatment therapies are generally limited beyond managing the medication and the primary treatment goal is to treat the withdrawal symptoms and put an end to the illicit drug use. Some programs do provide a small amount of counseling and group therapy as supplementary treatment, and it is recommended and encouraged.
