Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of out-patient drug and alcohol rehab program that is just below intensive out-patient and more intensive than regular out-patient rehabilitation. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also tailored to people who may need intensive treatment for a dual-diagnosis disorder, but do not need 24 hour supervision and care. For a client who has completed inpatient rehab, a partial hospitalization day treatment plan in The Colony could be of help to them make the transition more easily into a drug-free lifestyle as a "step-down" option. Following partial hospitalization day treatment, the individual could then transition into regular out-patient care.
When a person is in a partial hospitalization day treatment center, they commonly take part in services anywhere from 3-5 days per week. It is similar to an in-patient program in many important ways, including the fact that individuals will get access tomental health professionals, physicians and nurses who can deal with the psychological, emotional, and physical issues they are trying to overcome. For at least four to six hrs on the days that individuals attend partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will get individual addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, get any needed medical care and deal with any of the mental health problems that are triggering their drug addiction.
