Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of outpatient addiction rehab program that is just below intensive outpatient and more intensive than regular outpatient rehab. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help people who require intensive rehab for a co-occurring mental health disorder, but do not need 24 hour supervision and treatment. When a person is in a partial hospitalization day treatment center, they commonly participate in services anywhere from three to five days per week. It is similar to an in-patient program in many important ways, including the fact that individuals will have access tomental health professionals, physicians and nurses who can deal with the physical, emotional and psychological challenges they are trying to overcome. For at least 4-6 hours on the days that individuals attend partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will get personalized addiction therapy, psychotherapy services, participate in group counseling, receive any needed medical care and address any of the mental health symptoms that trigger their alcohol and drug addiction.
