SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Facilities - Cluster Springs, VA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of health efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid treatment programs, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Medications given are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs that stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab facilities in Cluster Springs are programs which are officially allowed to give out the drugs used in MAT being they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive ancillary services aside from medication like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehabilitation center can receive initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation facilities authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment facility is certified, it must be re-certified every year or every three years depending on the kind of accreditation it has been given.
