Psychological evaluation is also a standard procedure, and clinicians and doctors will come up with a course of treatment that can include group therapy, marriage or couples counseling, family therapy, individual psychotherapy, etc. If the client needing care also has a co-occurring disorder such as an alcohol or drug problem, many outpatient mental health centers are prepared to handle such a dual diagnosis.
