SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Facilities - Hague, VA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid treatment facilities, which are programs who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted clients. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation centers in Hague are programs which are officially allowed to give out the drugs used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive ancillary services in addition to medication such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehab facility can receive basic approval documentation while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab programs authorized by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab center is certified, they need to get re-certified every year or every three years contingent upon the kind of certification that was given.
