SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Facilities - Paris, VA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to promote the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the administering of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medicine given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation centers in Paris are programs which are legally permitted to dispense the drugs used in MAT being they maintain their certification and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also get auxiliary services in addition to medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehabilitation center can get their initial certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab programs authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. Likewise, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehabilitation center is certified, it must be re-certified every year or every three years depending on the type of certification it has been given.
