The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to advance the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehab facilities, which are centers that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent clients.
