SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centers - Quinby, VA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers who offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction. Medications given are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment centers in Quinby are programs that are legally allowed to dispense the drugs used in MAT being they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive ancillary benefits aside from medicine such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment facility can receive basic certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab facilities authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA branch. Once an opioid treatment program is approved to operate, they need to get re-certified every year or every three years contingent upon the type of certification it has been granted.
