SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Facilities - Roseland, VA.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are centers which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Medications given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent people. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation programs in Roseland are programs that are officially permitted to dispense the medicines used in MAT as long as they remain certified and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive ancillary benefits in addition to medication such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid rehab center can receive basic certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehabilitation program is approved to operate, it must be re-certified each year or every 3 years depending on the kind of certification it has been given.
