Halfway House - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Programs - Syria, VA.

When an individual has overcome substance abuse problem, it's not as simple as starting life again where you left off. Getting back to a positive and happy life takes time and a lot of determination. A Halfway House, a.k.a. a Sober Living Facility, is a setting where people in recovery can live in a drug and alcohol free and supportive setting until they are able to live stably on their own. Living in a Halfway House may be a term of a person's probation for example, or the person could decide to live in a Halfway House of their own accord following drug or alcohol treatment. In either case, occupants of a Halfway House are sober and working towards doing what is necessary to get their lives back on track. This could mean, for example, finishing school, getting employment, etc.

Halfway Houses in Syria are run by people who in most cases were once occupants of the house. How long a person is allowed to stay at the Halfway House can vary, but it's usually anywhere from a month to a couple of years. Residents are required to comply with drug and alcohol testing before entering the house, and this testing will happen intermittently to make sure there is not any substance use in the house or substance abuse problems that would be more adequately addressed in an alcohol or drug treatment facility.
