Naltrexone is an additional medication taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it's an opiate blocker and is not an opiate. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents an individual from experience being high from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse.
