SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centers - Concord, VT.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its duties is the administering of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are in the midst of opioid addiction and dependency. Drug administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people. SAMSHA certified opioid rehabilitation centers in Concord are programs who are officially allowed to distribute the medications used in MAT being they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also get auxiliary benefits aside from medication such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment facility can receive initial certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab facilities authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid treatment program is approved to operate, it must be re-certified every year or every 3 years depending on the kind of certification it has been given.
