The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the nation. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehabilitation facilities, which are centers that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent clients.
