The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to advance the mental health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug administered are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that stop curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment centers in Eden are programs that are legally permitted to dispense the drugs used in MAT being they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary services aside from medicine like counseling or behavioral therapy.
An opioid treatment program can get their initial certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs accredited by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab facility is approved to operate, they need to get re-certified every year or every 3 years depending on the kind of certification that was granted.
