The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the U.S.. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid treatment programs, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction.
