The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to advance the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the oversight of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are programs that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Drug given are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent individuals.
